Today we will move Travis on campus at UNT. He is so excited and that helps to keep me from being as sad as I probably would be otherwise. We have bought all the necessities, we have packed his clothes and my biggest hope is that we have taught him enough so that he makes good decisions. I hope we have taught him to be a leader and not a follower (if all of your friends are going to jump off of a cliff, are YOU going to jump off too?) I would hope he would say no to that. I hope we have taught him to be responsible and mature in most situations (a little immaturity never hurt anybody:) and I hope we have taught him that he can come to us with anything - it doesn't matter what it is. But above all I hope he knows that he has the love and support of his entire family as he wanders off on this big adventure and he is never doing anything by himself - we (and GOD) are right here! So go, and fly - and do your best cuz thats all anyone can ever ask of you.
I'm know you both have done a great job in teaching him. Remember, he's not very far.
ReplyDeleteI think you have the right idea...go visit and take him out to dinner sometime. I'm sure he's going to miss you too!!
It went better than I expected - now we go day by day :) Its a Mom thing I suppose.
